Entry #8 Would Love Some Actual Sleep

Recently, I have had bag cases of huge dark circles under my eyes, been in a grumpy mood and most of all... I am always tired.  Normally I am good with waking up at a desired time, but lately the time has been pushed back quite a bit.

I have been trying to get some serious research in because I don't want it to start affecting me at school.  I don't feel as focused as I usually am in class and it's almost difficult for me to pay attention.  I found a few tips on Healthy Sleep that I considered trying

One of the tips was to make my room a "sleep-inducing environment".  To do that I put a black out shade over my window so my room stays nice and cool, and then at night I make sure all lights are off and I turn my fan on.  My room has felt much more nice and relaxing to be in ever since, it also helps me take small power naps!

Another thing I found interesting was to be not be a "Clock Watcher".

I now realized constantly checking my phone and seeing what time it is, is not going to actually help me fall asleep.  Resting, just closing my eyes and not focusing on the time probably could also help me.  Another way to possibly help me is to go to bed when I know I am truly tired.

I always try to go to sleep at a certain time every night, rather if I am tired or not.  I am going to try to just wait until I know I am about to fall asleep, maybe it will help me a little bit better.  If any of you are having trouble sleeping and need something new to try, try some of the tips in the link.

You know what they say, goodnight, sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite!

                                                                           Sincerely,
                                                                             Megan

  1. I am actually having those issues but I think it’s maybe for the stress of the things we normally do during the day like school, work etc. Maybe you are thinking too much in get things done every day. And thank you for the advices

  2. I've been experiencing some of these issues as well, but i feel some of your tips can really help. i'm definitely a "clock watcher", and i never realized how something as simple as that could hurt my ability to sleep.

  3. You just gave me an idea about the dark shade in the room. I work crazy hours and on top of that I have a curious son, maybe this will help us get a good night sleep.

  5. I also have trouble sleeping. I will definitely try some of these to help me relax. Especially the phone checking one. I always tend to do that but have never thought about it being a problem.
